She teaches organic growth strategies, community building and effective and ethical marketing. She's also passionate about self care and ensuring your social strategy is something you can maintain without stress or burnout.Alexis says "In my business I advise small business owners how to use social media effectively and ethically; I believe the capitalist ideas that lead to unethical marketing tactics have a big impact on the climate from spreading misinformation to pushing a "more more more" attitude of more content and buying more".Many small business owners struggle with creating and managing the perceived social media To-Do list on a weekly, even daily basis. It can be stressful and often clients tell us they often feel like they are playing catch up and are never really able to do enough when trying to keep on top of their content development, planning and marketing. On top of that so many of us have a strong commitment to treading lightly on the Earth and fortunately Alexis has expertise in combining social media marketing and making ethical choices with how and what we share online.Alexis will share some of her expertise with us on using social media for good and avoiding burnout while growing our audience ethically and organically along with some tips on how do we track our digital carbon footprint. Using Social Media For Good & Avoiding Burnout

On this week's show we chat with James Willson from Sun-X (UK) Ltd. James joined Sun-X in January 1997 as a data-entry clerk before heading off to University. He returned each holiday until graduation, and then returned again to help out, and never left! He took on more and more responsibility, from assistant sales manager, through contracts management, into sales management, and now as the CEO of 10 years he is responsible for day-to-day management and business development of the company.Sun-X has been treating windows to combat the effects of the sun since the 1960's, initially with a liquid coating, which was adapted for the conservation market to filter out harmful UV rays, without changing the quality of the transmitted light, nor the appearance of the building. The advent of polyester window film in the 1970's then superseded liquid to a large degree. Sun-X then began manufacturing and fitting traditional roller blind systems in the 1980's, thereby offering a complete solution to sunlight control.Sun-X is also able to offer solutions to dramatically reduce energy usage in commercial buildings : Low-E window films can reduce summer heat gain, thereby reducing air-conditioning loads, but also retain heat in winter, saving on heating costs. This year-round capability can show a return on investment in as little as 3 years. Indicative and fully detailed reports can be produced to demonstrate its performance, and show reductions in carbon footprint, helping to meet Minimum Energy Efficiency standards, earn BREEAM credits, and reduce Climate Change Levy liabilities.Since 2004, Sun-X is also very proud to bear the Royal Warrant: By Appointment to Her Majesty The Queen, Suppliers and Installers of Traditional Blinds and Ultraviolet Filters. We ask James for some top tips on how to find ways to save energy in our homes and offices and some questions around rising through the ranks in business and experiencing different roles in the business onto running the business. As always we ask James his top Eco Lifestyle or Business Tip.

Keeping Your Cool In Business

On this week's show we chat with Emma Wainer from Speaking at Work. Emma helps women with vision and ambition, raise their visibility and credibility by amplifying their ability to be heard and influence with grace, so they can become known as an impactful leader. She helps clients to gain clarity about themselves as a speaker and their message, helping them connect with their message and their audience and through that build the confidence to deal with difficult situations, increase their credibility and really embody impactful leadership.Emma started her business Speaking at Work after working in the corporate space for 10 years. She regularly spoke to large audiences, headed up pitches for significant business and coached clients on how to present. Emma says "I was a confident speaker, in fact I loved speaking in front of an audience. Then I had a career break when my children were born and gradually that confidence leaked away - my voice began to disappear. So, I enrolled in a 1-year, full-time Masters in Voice, at Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. It was transformative".Emma rediscovered her voice and with it a passion for helping others find and use theirs to maximise their potential, take up opportunities they are turning away and helping businesses get their message out there. She loves being able to combine the development of the individual with a wider business strategy. We have invited Emma to the Show because many of us struggle with public speaking, making recordings of ourselves and being confident in front of any size audience on or off line. It will be great to get some tips on how to overcome this. We will ask about the common fears and the issues that female leaders can have in the work place when it comes to being heard. As always we ask Emma for her top Lifestyle or Business Eco Tip.Find out more about Emma here: http://www.speakingatwork.co.uk/ or connect on LinkedIn here https://www.linkedin.com/in/emmawainer/#femaleleadership #speaking #impact #business #findyourvoice

Using Your Voice To Raise Your Visibility & Impact

On this week's show we chat with Julia Fawsley Grant from 4leaf Coaching who is a firm believer that we all make our own luck and her coaching business was formed on that concept.Julia offers coaching specifically for positive impact businesses saying "I help them stay true to their founding values which can sometimes be difficult when business gets busy. Everyone needs a bit of support at times and I think this is nowhere more true than when you are running a purpose-led business. Whether that purpose is sustainability, eco, ethical or a combination of all of them". Julia partners with founders and team members to keep them close to what they believe in and how they can keep those beliefs aligned to everyday practicalities. She is a one woman band so her business and personal life are intertwined (like so many of us). Julia recycles and uses refill options, she cycles everywhere she can, has a green bank account, uses eco products and has a green energy provider. We have asked Julia to join us to talk about her work and to give us some tips on how we can make sure we stay true to our founding goals and what to do if we have lost our way. Most recently Julia has started to look at her online carbon footprint so we will ask her what she has discovered, and of course we will ask for Julia's Top Eco Business Tip.The HubFizz Show is always a snappy 10 minutes packed full of interesting and useful content and this week is no different.Sit back and take 10 minutes for yourself.Find out more about Julia here:
