About Norwich Community Plant Nursery

Norwich Community Plant Nursery is a project based at Valpy Avenue Allotments in the Mile Cross area of Norwich. Our aim is to produce plants for local people and to provide opportunities to put permaculture ethics, principles and design into practice. We propagate food plants and ornamentals and grow trees from seed. We work with community groups involved in managing green spaces and bring people together through community gardening and related social and educational activities.

Working with local communities to make Norwich green again.

Testimonial from Claire D., Community Connector and Mile Cross Green Hearts member

“We’ve learned so much on our ‘Green Hearts’ journey with the Plant-hub and have had lots of gardening help and information from Steve in the community gardens. We’ve all made new friends and have enjoyed being in the gardens and at the allotment. Can’t wait to see what the next year brings!”

What they say about working with me

“We owe a special thanks to Karen Black of HubFizz and Eco Meetup Norwich, who offered her website building services completely free of charge. Karen has amazing communications and i.t. skills and has created an informative and interactive on-line presence for the Norwich Community Plant Nursery which is updated regularly. It’s no exaggeration to say that, at a time when Covid restrictions limited face to face meetings, having such a point of contact made all the difference in building support and getting the project off the ground.”
